Our Farms
We pride ourselves in ordering produce from the best organic farms we can find, and every single piece of produce we have is 100% USDA Certified Organic. When the growing season is on, we strive to bring you as much local produce as we can.
During the colder parts of the year when the leaves have fallen and the air is chilly, we are still able to bring you organic produce that comes mostly from our friends in California. We have searched high and low, but it's pretty hard to find tropical fruit like Bananas and Pineapples growing anywhere around here, so for some of our more exotic produce, we use farms out of the country that meet the same rigourous standards and are USDA Organic Certified.
It is very important to know where our food comes, so we invite you to meet some of our farmers:

Goatsbeard Farm

The farm is situated in the rolling hills of central Missouri, just north of the mighty Missouri River-about 30 minutes northwest of Columbia. Our 80 acre farm contains pastures, woods, ponds and Prairie Creek. As a small family farm dedicated to creating a sustainable livelihood from the land, we strive to produce excellent cheese while protecting the water quality of our watershed, enhancing our soils with natural fertilizers, and improving biodiversity. To implement these principles, we have taken steps such as feeding our goats with a management-intensive grazing system, heating our home and dairy with hot water from an outdoor wood burning furnace, and using whey, a cheese making by-product, in our fields as fertilizer.

My Neighbor Steve's Farm
(Baldwin City, KS)

Our Farm is located just outside of Lawrence, Kansas. The tomatoes, basil and garlic that we grow go into my pasta sauce. Our aim is to provide you with an authentic Italian recipe (one I picked up while living in Florence) that's completely local and organic. The produce goes from the field to the jar, frequently within hours. So there's a fresh quality that's very hard to find in other pasta sauces. This year we are branching out and planting a number of vegetables. We believe strongly in eating food grown locally and we're excited to offer local produce to you.
